What is a Mutation?

A mutation is simply +2 levels in one stat.

That's it.

It can happen in:

❤️ Health

⚡ Stamina

🍖 Food

💨 Oxygen

⚖️ Weight

💪 Melee

Unfortunately, the game can mutate nearly any stat, including the useless ones.

Which Mutations Do I Keep?

For most creatures, you normally only keep mutations in:

❤️ Health

💪 Melee

Sometimes people also keep:

⚡ Stamina

⚖️ Weight

If your mutation lands in Food or Oxygen, most people simply don't use it.

Only Mutate ONE Side

This is the biggest mistake people make.

Only your MALE should get new mutations.

Your females should always stay exactly the same as your original clean female.

Never replace your females with mutated ones.

Keep Each Stat Separate

When you're building mutations, only work on one stat at a time.

For example:

One breeding group for ❤️ Health.

One breeding group for 💪 Melee.

One breeding group for ⚖️ Weight.

Don't breed your Health line into your Melee line while you're still stacking mutations.

Although it can work, it quickly becomes confusing and makes it much harder to keep track of your mutations.

Once you've finished stacking the number of mutations you want on each individual stat, then combine them into one final breeding line.

Keeping each stat separate is cleaner, easier to manage, and makes fixing mistakes much simpler.

Once you have a new male with a mutation, keep the old one, in case it’s ever need. You don’t need to keep every male, some people do, others keep every 5 or 10. Backups are always good to have.

When You Get a Good Mutation

Let's say your breeding male has:

Health: 50

Melee: 48

A baby hatches with:

Health: 52

Melee: 48

Congratulations! You got a Health mutation.

If it's a male, replace your old breeding male with him.

If it's a female, don't panic.

Breed that female with your clean male until you get a male with the exact same mutated stats, then replace your breeding male with him.

Then Do It Again

Once your new mutated male is breeding with all of your clean females, you're looking for the next mutation.

Example:

Health 50 → 52 → 54 → 56 → 58...

Every good mutation stacks on top of the last one.

That's how people end up with insanely powerful dinos.

IMPORTANT

✅ Mutated Male + Clean Females = Good

❌ Mutated Male + Mutated Female = Bad

Keeping your females clean makes your breeding line much easier to manage and lets you stack mutations for much longer without making a mess.
