Bases must be at least 400 metres apart

Distance is measured from the closest structure OR dino of one base to the closest structure OR dino of another base

Maximum base size

A base must be no larger than 350 metres end to end

Size is measured from the furthest structure OR dino on one side of your base to the furthest structure OR dino on the opposite side.

Bases area is essentially a circle

How to check distance in-game (Spyglass)

Use a spyglass to accurately check distances.

Between bases

Stand at your closest structure or dino

Use a spyglass and aim at their closest structure or dino

The distance shown on the spyglass is the distance used

Base size

Stand at your furthest structure or dino

Use a spyglass and aim at your furthest structure or dino on the opposite side

The distance shown is your total base size

You may also use a tamed dino to check distances at your base or between bases.

Put your dino at the furthest point of your base, head to opposite point and the check dino tracker in your inventory. Same method can be done for measuring between bases.

❗️Important notes❗️

If your base is over the allowed size, it must be reduced

If another base is within that distance, let us know

If you placed second, you will be the one required to move — no matter how small the first base is

This distance rule has always existed — it’s just easier to judge now

If you’re unsure, ask before building out — it’ll save everyone headaches later.
